Maureen A. (Moriarty) Connolly LaRose, 74, of Worcester, Venice, Florida, and Kennebunk, Maine, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2016, while surrounded by her loving family at UMass Hospital in Worcester. Maureen is survived by the family she was blessed to love, her devoted husband of thirteen years, Francis W. LaRose; a son, Frederick Connolly and his wife Susan of North Grafton; three daughters, Deborah Perro and her husband Rodney, Mary Connolly, and Maureen O’Connor and her husband Stephen, all of Worcester; two brothers, Hugh Moriarty of Belchertown, and James Moriarty of Worcester; nine grandchildren, Brandon, Joshua, Jessica, Stephen, Ryan, Seamus, Sarah, Brendan, and Andrew; a great grandson, Brayden; many nieces and nephews. Maureen was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Hugh and Mary (Moran) Moriarty. She graduated from Marian High School and then studied nursing at Quinsigamond Community College, later becoming a Registered Nurse. Maureen was devoted to her family, to prayer, and to caring for others more than herself. She shared her compassion and her vocation as a nurse, with her patients at the former Worcester County Hospital, UMass in Worcester, and most recently at Saint Joseph Convent in Biddeford, Maine. She was devoutly dedicated to her church and to prayer. She was a member of Saint Stephen’s Church in Worcester and Saint Marth’s Church in Kennebunk, Maine. Maureen loved her family. She loved the time she spent with her husband, devoted children, and loving grandchildren. Some of her favorite things to do we're taking early-morning walks on the beach in Maine, tending to her flower gardens, and going to mass. She thanked God for the grace is he provided her by saying the rosary daily. She loved God and believed he walked with her every day of her life. Calling Hours for Maureen will be held on Sunday, July 24, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be held on Monday, July 25, from the funeral home, departing in procession at 9:40 a.m. for a 10 a.m. Mass at Saint Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton Street, Worcester, MA 01604. Interment will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
