Mary A. (Marzilli) DiPasquale, 95, of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich. She was surrounded by loving family. Her husband of seventy years, Frank V. DiPasquale, predeceased her in November 2010. Mary and Frank are now together in Heaven with their loving daughter, Donna Jean Burns, who predeceased them in 2000. Mary’s life was her family, and they filled her life with joy and happiness; she is survived by two daughters, Esther F. Powers and her husband John of East Dennis (formerly of Shrewsbury), and Ann Marie Mercadante and her husband Richard of Shrewsbury; a sister, Esther Fitzgerald of Brewster; a sister in law, Antoinette Palermo of Worcester; seven grandchildren, Mary Frances Staples and her husband Jeffrey, Michelle Strand, Donna Jean Catino and her husband Christopher, Tara Simard and her husband Christopher, Joseph Mercadante and his wife Mary, Richard Burns, Jr., and Mara Jean Burns; twelve great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother and two sisters, Thomas Marzilli, Angelina Vescera, and Jenny DiPilato. Mary was born in Warren, Ohio, daughter of the late, Anthony and Michelina (Flaminio) Marzilli, and has called Worcester her home for most of her life. Mary was a devoted member of the former Saint Margaret Mary Church and most recently Saint Anne’s Church in Shrewsbury. She worked for a short time at the former Dunlevy’s Back Room Clothing Store on Route 9 in Shrewsbury. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and crocheting. Mary found the greatest joy in her family and loved to be surrounded by them, whether at the table enjoying a home cooked meal or simply spending quiet quality time in each other’s company. As much as she loved her family and friends, it was the wonder of new life and love found in her great grandchildren, that brought her smiles and heart filled joy. Calling Hours for Mary will be held on Monday, July 25, from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by a procession to an 11 a.m. Mass at Saint Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike (Route 9 East), Shrewsbury. Interment will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that donations in her memory be made to the McCarthy Care Center, 73 Service Road, East Sandwich, MA 02537.
