Leonard "Lenny" K. Hensas, III, 40 of Shrewsbury, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 16, 2016 in Taunton, MA. Lenny is survived by his mother, Joanne C. Hensas of Shrewsbury; his father, Leonard K. Hensas, Jr, and his wife Joanne E. Hensas of Foxboro; a sister, Stacey R. Hensas-Tula and her fiancé Eric S. Arthur of Millbury; a brother, Jason T. Hensas of Shrewsbury; his son, Victorious "Tori" D. Rodriguez-Hensas; his niece, Emiley L. Tula; his fiancé, Kristine M. Souther; and a step-daughter, Kayla M. Souther. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Thomas R. & Rita B. (Chesna) Mawdsley and Leonard K. & Rita (Kupstas) Hensas. Lenny was born on January 20, 1976 in Worcester and was raised in Shrewsbury. He attended Saint John's High School his freshman year and worked as a counselor at Saint John's Summer Camp. Lenny was very athletic growing up; playing football, soccer, and baseball for the town of Shrewsbury up until he graduated from Shrewsbury High school. Lenny was a certified pool installer and also worked as a roofer. Lenny was a diehard Boston sports fanatic. He loved the New England Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics, but his greatest passion was for the Boston Bruins. Lenny was a very generous and caring person, as well a great friend. He was loved by those that knew him and will be dearly missed by all. A period of visitation will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 PLANTATION ST., WORCESTER, MA, followed by a time of prayer and reflection with Leonard's friends and family at 6:30 p.m. Interment will be held at a later time at the convenience of Lenny's family.
