Pasquale J. “Patsy” DiPadua, 91, of Worcester, passed away July 17, 2016, at Beaumont in Worcester with his family by his side. Patsy was born at home in Shrewsbury, one of 11 children of Italian Immigrants Francesco and Marianne (Impagnatiello) DiPadua, He grew up and educated in Shrewsbury, a member of the greatest generation he left school early to join the U.S. Army during World War II, serving overseas as a Combat Medic. In 1957, Patsy married Florence Tiso and lived life in love, family and devotion the next 52 years until 2009 when Florence left his side. Patsy provided for his family by working as a construction worker for several construction companies including, Robert J. Devereaux Corporation before retiring at the age of 72. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa DiPadua-Buffone and her husband Steven Buffone with whom he lived; two brothers, Michael DiPadua of Shrewsbury and Peter DiPadua of Worcester; three sisters, Nancy Rose and Jenny Kewley both of Shrewsbury and Rose Mahoney of Hopkinton; his grand dog Genesis; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Besides Florence, Patsy was pre deceased by his dog, Cocoa, brothers, Matteo, Leo, and James DiPadua and sisters, Antoinette Ciccone and Lucy Davio. Patsy and Florence loved to dance, garden, play bingo, cards and the occasional trips to the Casinos. Patsy was a diehard New York Yankee and New York Giants fan, attending when he could, watching all the time. He was a member of the Eastside Post 201, American Legion and the Chapter 4, Disabled American Veterans. His favorite restaurant was the 4 seasons across the street. His Pizza and hot peppers were delicious. Family was important to Pasty also; nothing meant more to him than his wife, daughter and son in law. They were his world and his life’s inspiration. He cherished every moment he could spend with them. A special thankyou to the wonderful nurses and cna staff at Beaumont and Salmon Hospice in Worcester for their exceptional and professional kindness and care taking of my dad. And a very special thank you to my aunt Antoinette Smith for her love and support of our family, checking in on my dad every day, several times a day to sit by his side, hold his hand and pray for him to be at peace. A period of calling hours will be held Wednesday, July 20th from 9 am to 10:30 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. followed by a procession to St Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd where his Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Burial next to his wife Florence and with Military honors will follow in St John’s Cemetery.
