Nellie J. (Zimatravich) Wisboro, 98 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at St. Mary’s Healthcare surrounded by her family. Nellie’s husband and the love of her life for 25 years, Edward V. Wisboro passed away in 1971. She leaves behind her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Judith Wisboro with whom she lived; a few nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son, Edward Wisboro who was killed in the line of duty while he was serving his country in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam War in 1970. Her twin brother, George Zimatravich, a brother, John Zimatravich and a sister, Helen Murphy also predeceased her. Nellie was born in Worcester, a daughter to the late George and Helen (Pullis) Zimatravich. She grew up on a farm in Millbury and had a great love for all God’s creatures and flowers and graduated from Millbury High School. Nellie worked as an inspector at Woodbury & Company retiring 1983. She was a member of the Commonwealth Literary Corporation. She helped immigrants obtain citizenship, was an avid Red Sox fan and was also a Gold Star Mother. Services for Nellie will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass of Christina Burial at 11 a.m. in Saint John’s Church, 44 Temple St., Worcester. Burial will follow at Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Tuesday morning from 9-10 a.m. in the funeral home prior to departure for her funeral mass.
