Ann P. (Principe) Balderston

October 11, 1923 — July 5, 2016

Ann P. (Principe) Balderston, 92 of West Boylston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the Masonic Home in Charlton surrounded by her loving family. Ann was born in Shrewsbury, MA, a daughter to the late Italian immigrants, Thomas and Martha (DiSalvia) Principe. She graduated from Commerce High School and later moved to West Boylston where she has lived for the past 56 years. Ann was a line foreman for both Timex and GE for many years retiring 1983 at the age of 60. After retirement, Ann worked as a medical aid for UMass Medical Center: University Campus. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel in West Boylston and enjoyed the times she spent with family and friends. Ann is best remembered for her wonderful cooking and baking that would be served in delicious multi-course Sunday and holiday meals. She loved fashion and shopping for just the right outfit, pair of shoes or matching pocketbooks.   She also was a great fan of opera music and besides listening she herself would frequently break out in song. Ann’s first husband, George E. Putnam passed away in June of 1980 and her second husband, Joseph Balderston passed away in October of 2014. She is survived by her son, David C. Putnam and his wife Leslie of Moultonborough, NH; two daughters, Linda A. Cote of Cape Coral, FL and Georgiann Guerin and her husband Timothy of Sutton; five grandchildren, Tammy Fuller and her husband Michael of Salem, NH, Stephen Nelson and his wife Jennifer of Oxford, Timothy G. Guerin of Houston, TX, Dr. Kelly Fiore and her husband Dr. Samuel Fiore of Moultonborough, NH. and Jennifer Demeo and her husband Michael of Palm City, FL; ten great grandchildren, Matthew, Jessica, Heather, Jamie, Adam, Gianna, Nicholas, Giulianna, Zachary and Nathaniel; one great great granddaughter, Adeline and grandson in law, Daniel Brini of Berlin, CT; her niece, Sandra Baniukiewicz of Grafton; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her granddaughter, Amanda Brini who passed on February 25, 2009; her son-in-law, Louis Cote, Jr. who passed on April 5, 2016; two brothers, Patrick and George Principe; four sisters, Rose Castonguay, Theresa Heron, Maria Forsyth and Anna Principe. Services for Ann will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass of Christina Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St., West Boylston. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston. A period of calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 10th from 5-7 pm in the funeral home.
