Eleanore F. (Demers) Corey, 80 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Golden Living Center-The Hermitage surrounded by her loving family. Eleanore is survived by three sons, Stephen Corey and his wife Linda, David Corey and his wife Lindsay all of Worcester and John Corey and his wife Christine of Westborough; two daughters, Nancy Corey and Susan Corey-LaFlamme; a brother, Lionel R. Demers all of Worcester; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was fortunate to have two very best friends, Mike Archambault and Eric Benander. Eleanore was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Lionel and Ida (Latullippe) Demers. She graduated from the COTA program at Quinsigamond Community College. Eleanore worked as a rehabilitation specialist for Community Healthlink for 10 years. She was an advocate for the mentally ill, working on the Human Rights committee for over ten years. She also worked in the activities department at Greenhill Rest Home for 3 years before she retired in 2010. During her first year of work, she was very proud to have received employee of the year. The family would like to thank the Golden Living Center Staff for the excellent care that Eleanore received and the support given to her family. Services for Eleanore will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph-Holy Family Parish, 35 Hamilton St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. A period of the calling hours will be held on Monday, June 27th from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome.
