Ema Jeana Scott Cambra, 64 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at UMass Medical Center: Memorial Campus surrounded by her loving family. Ema is survived by two sons, Jim-Sun Cambra-Asare of Spencer and Pharoah Khadafi Cambra-Genfi of Fall River; three brothers, James P. Stovall and his wife Ellen, Elijah Cambra and his wife Lauren of Raleigh, NC and Gabriel “Jody” Stovall, Jr. and his wife Carol of Worcester; four sisters, Muqeedah Salaam of Boston, Lynette Stovall and Tammy Korva Stovall and her husband Thomas all of Raleigh NC and Gabrielle “Buffy” Abdur-Rahim and her husband William of Atlanta, GA; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by the father that raised her, Gabriel Stovall, Sr.; a brother, Charles G. Cambra and a sister, Nicole Channing Stovall. Ema was born in Henderson, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Charlie Jorge Cambra and Emma Lee (Chavis) Cambra Stovall. She graduated from North High School. Ema received her bachelor’s degree from University of Massachusetts in Amherst and later received her master’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University. Ema was a guidance counselor for Worcester Public Schools. She previously worked for Worcester Community Action Counsel as a case worker. Ema worked in human services for over 40 years. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to yard sales and reading. A period of calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 from 10-11 a.m. with her Celebration of Life Services to following at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 717 Main St., Worcester.
