Norman L. Baker, 76, of Millbury, formerly of Worcester, passed away Friday, June 10th 2016 after a period of declining health. Norman was born in Central Falls, Rhode Island, the son of Lucian and Beatrice (Masse) Baker. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and upon discharge from the service settled in the Worcester area where he has lived for 40 years ago. Norman worked as a laborer and forklift operator for the Construction industry. He also, worked as caretaker of the White Eagle on Green St and as an employee for NewTecK Design group for many years before retiring. Norman leaves two sons; Jeffrey and James Baker, and his former wife, Janet (Ahigian) Baker all in Florida; cousins, extended family members his caretaker, former employer and best friend David Amato of Paxton as well as a friend Roland Barrows of Oxford. He was a simple man who enjoyed time with friends, loved animals and loved to work. He always gave his best effort, cared about all people around him and would help anyone who asked. He had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 15th at 11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & Chapel, 370 Plantation St. Burial with military honors will follow in Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery in Winchendon. A period of calling hours will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the service.
