Camillo J Loconsolo

Camillo J. Loconsolo, of Worcester went to join his family in heaven on his 96th birthday, Wednesday, June 1, 2016 in the comfort of his home surrounded by family. Cam was born June 1st 1920, in Worcester a son of Angelo and Anna (Fenio) Loconsolo.  He was educated in Worcester, joined the U.S. Army during World War II, serving his country proudly as an ambulance driver in the Medical corps.  Notably on his transport ship to England, Cam met Mickey Rooney, something he always mention, when sharing memories of his war years.   Upon his return from the War, Cam worked for Paul Hats Company for over thirty years.  Cam then accepted a position with the machine maintenance department of Wyman-Gordon Company Worcester Plant for another 10 years before retiring.  Cam is survived by his son, Robert Loconsolo and his life partner Sharon Chaput of Worcester, Regina Arsenault and her husband Bernard of Dennisport, and Kelly M. Poulin of Stratford Ct; two sisters, Lena “Lee” Lucivero and Gloria Bodinizzio both of Worcester; five grandchildren, Kerry Foley and her husband David, Elise Arsenault, Sean Poulin, Matthew Loconsolo and Andrew Loconsolo; A great grandchild, David Foley III; Many Nieces, nephews and extended family members.   He was predeceased by his first wife, Rose (Andolina) Loconsolo and his second wife Frances (Hawes) Early, Loconsolo, his son Joseph F. Loconsolo, brothers Jackie, John and Frank Loconsolo,and  sisters, Mary Shippole and Lucy Bougai. He was a member of Our Lady of Loreto.  Cam enjoyed spending summers in Dennisport, playing bocce, soaking up the sun and watching the Red Sox.   He was a wonderful dancer enjoying many Saturday nights at the Froshinn club in Shrewsbury with his first wife Rose, and where he met his second wife Fran.   Cam was a great cook and everyone loved his Italian cooking especially his meatballs.   He was a truly nice man and will be missed by many. In his later years, Cam looked forward to his weekly Sunday McDonalds breakfasts; follow by his Price Chopper visits with Bob and Sharon. Cam’s funeral will be held Saturday, June 4th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St with a procession to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd where his Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am.   Entombment with Military honors will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum.  A period of calling hours will be held Saturday, June 4th from 8:30 am to 9:30 am before processing to church.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Ronald McDonalds Charities, care of Ronald McDonald House of Springfield, 34 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107
