Jeanne R. (Boyer) DeFosse, 89, of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, surrounded by her loving family at the Jewish Healthcare Center. Jeanne is survived by the legacy of a loving family, including, a son, Matthew DeFosse and his longtime partner Sheila Smith and son Nick; three daughters, Michelle Hubbard of Worcester, Roberta Brodeur and her husband Robert of Sutton, and Andrea Smith of Cape Cod; a brother, Jim Boyer of Colorado; two sisters, Sister Annette Boyer, SSA of Worcester, and Claire Krzyzewski of Marshfield; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Jeanne was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Arthur J.B. and Blanche (Rondeau) Boyer, and has lived here all her life. She was predeceased by a sister Renee Greenwood and three brothers, Ed Boyer, Eugene Boyer and Paul “Red” Boyer. She was a member of Christ the King Church and loved to be with her family. Jeanne enjoyed travelling to Cape Cod or anywhere there was a beach, she loved visiting the mountains, reading and quality time with her grandchildren. She worked as a pharmaceutical technician for many years at Astra-Zeneca in Westborough. Jeanne’s family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to all of the wonderful caregivers, nurses, aides, doctors, and volunteers at Jewish Healthcare Center; their kindness and compassion will be forever remembered. Calling Hours for Jeanne will be on Tuesday morning, May 31, in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, from 9 a.m. until 10:15 a.m., when the cortege will prepare to depart in procession for an 11 a.m. Mass at Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Heifer Project, 216 Wachusett Street, Rutland, MA 01543.
