Robert P. Lapriore, 72, of New Port Richey, Florida, formerly of Worcester, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Monday, May 16, 2016. Robert is survived by his loving family, a sister, Marie C. Lapriore of Worcester; a nephew, Paul J. Lapriore of Worcester; a niece, Jessica M. Lapriore; his life-long friend, Fran Bellerive of Worcester; a great niece and nephew, Elena M. Lapriore and Samuel P. Lapriore; cousins and friends. He is also survived by his friend and caregiver, John “Jay” Pritchett of New Port Richey, Jay’s kindness and caring for Robert is appreciated. Robert was born in Worcester, son of the late, Samuel A. and Viola M. (Mechetti) Lapriore. He was a Psychologist for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for over thirty years, before retiring in 1998, later moving to Florida. He earned his credentials from Framingham State University, and attained two Masters Degrees from Anna Maria College in Paxton. He continued his education by earning a Certificate in Psychology from University of Washington. Robert loved his family and his beloved dogs and constant companions, Mimi and Codi. He enjoyed card games, travel, collecting antiques, and sharing his abilities as a chef with family and friends. He had been a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Worcester. Calling Hours for Robert will be held on Sunday, May 22, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral will be held on Monday, May 23, from the funeral home, with a cortege departing at 9:45 a.m. in procession to a 10 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester, MA 01604.
