Louis P. Fulginiti, 93, of Worcester died peacefully Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. His wife of 67 years, Margaret J. (Puleo) Fulginiti passed away November 18, 2015. Louis is survived by his son, Michael S. Fulginiti and his wife Lisa of Cornish, ME; two sisters, Rosie Murray and her husband Edward of Holden and Eleanor Mancini of Worcester; two grandchildren, Katie Chaffee and her husband Adam of Worcester and Michael L. Fulginiti of St. Augustine, FL; two adored great grandchildren, Gavin and Dylan. Louis was predeceased by three brothers, Anthony “Butch”, Frank and William Fulginiti and a sister, Katherine “Kate” Padavano. Louis was born in Worcester, son of the late Savario and Maria (Buffone) Fulginiti. During World War II, Louis proudly served our country in the United States Army. He served overseas in Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes. He was an active soldier in the Battle of the Bulge and a quarter guard under General Patton. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Louis loved going to flea markets and auctions where he would often find treasures. He also enjoyed collecting and selling antiques. Louis was an active dealer at Worcester Flea Market and could always be found there on Sundays until shortly before his passing. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren. They were his greatest achievement. Louis’s family would like to extend their deepest thanks for the many nurses and staff at JHC Hospice for their love and compassion over the past several months. Family, friends, and others whose lives Louis touched are invited to MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. His Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.
