Robert J. Carreau, Jr, 66 of Worcester passed away peacefully surrounded by his devoted family on Sunday, May 1st 2016. Robert was born in Worcester, of the late Robert J. Carreau Sr. and Marguerite (Fortin) Carreau. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade, Class of 1969, and has lived here all his life. On May 8th 1971, Robert married his love, Linda L. Giorgio and together they began to raise their family for the next 45 years. Robert at the same time, accepted a position as a calibration technician with the Norton Company in Worcester, a position he has held for over 47 years to this day. Robert is survived by his devoted wife Linda; his two children, Robert J. Carreau, III of Worcester and Patricia A. Parker of Henniker, NH; a brother, Kenneth Carreau and his wife Susan in North Carolina; six sisters, Theresa Tyan and her husband George of Shrewsbury, Patricia Cevasco and her husband Enrico of New Jersey, Denise Warren and her husband Michael of Princeton, Becky LaVergne and her husband Norman of Sutton, Deborah Disken in Florida, and Christine Ebert and her husband Edmund in Maine; two grandchildren he dearly loved, Justin and Lillian; his father’s second wife, Ruth (Moody) Carreau of Florida; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Robert was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church. He enjoyed tinkering on cars, his occasional trips to Foxwoods, the family summer vacations in Old Orchard Beach Maine, and traveling with Linda to Aruba and Las Vegas. As a young man, Robert was a member of the boy scouts where he traveled with them to Mexico. He also was a member of the Army Reserves for many years and enjoyed fishing. Robert was a devoted family man with a dedication to them; nothing came before his wife, children or grandchildren. They were his life. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Wednesday, May 4th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be held Thursday, May 5th from the funeral home with a procession to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd where his celebration of life Mass will be held at 10:00 am. Burial will be private.
