David T. Murphy, 53 of Worcester, formerly of Shrewsbury, passed away on April 11, 2016. David was born in Worcester, a son of the late Thomas F. Murphy and Theresa R. (Libuda) Wayman. David worked as a foreman for Eversource formerly known as both Nstar and Commonwealth Gas Company for many years before going on long-term disability due to health issues. In earlier times, David was very active in various youth organizations in the Town of Shrewsbury, volunteering his time as a show of love and support to his children. David leaves his children, Megan C. Murphy and Kevin D. Murphy both of Shrewsbury; his estranged wife, Robin M. (Howe) Murphy of Shrewsbury; his sisters, Monica (Murphy) Coakley and her husband Thomas and their children of Charlton and Pamela (Wayman) Pingeton and her husband Jeffrey and their children of Sterling. Services for David will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester to Saint Mary’s Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow next to his mother in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Friday, April 15th from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
