Robert A. Peduzzi, 78 of Worcester; president, of Empire Granite Company, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep, Wednesday, April 13th 2016. Bob was born in Worcester, a son of the late Aguinaldo and Cora (Pender) Peduzzi. He graduated from Commerce High School class of 1955. In the fall of 1955, Bob married his sweetheart Jean Valoir; together they began a life of 61 years together raising their large and loving family. Newly married, Robert joined his father in the family business started in 1945, Empire Granite, continuing to work side by side with his father until 1992 when his dad passed and bob assumed the Presidency. He has continued to work in the business that meant everything to him, Empire Granite specialized in the importing of Carrara marble statues from Italy and the ability to engrave or shape most any monument or granite stone a family asked for. Bob is survived by his large, loving and devoted family; His wife Jean; eight children, Cheryl Peduzzi, Joan Grady, who worked alongside of her father for 42 years and her husband Kevin, Debra Walsh and her husband James, Cathy Senosk, Patricia Walsh and her husband Michael, Paula Besaw and her husband Louis, Robert J. Peduzzi, and John P. Peduzzi; 18 grandchildren, Kimberly, Tammy, Ray, Dan, Shannon, Kelly, Bart, Brad, Michael, Shane, Adam, Matthew, Anthony, Joey, Ashley, Samantha, Angela and Amanda; 14 great grandchildren; Jaycob, Savannah, Will, Ryann, Dominic, Connor, Kaitlin, Finnegan, Grady, Deaglan, Tristan, Kylee, Michael and Brady; A nephew Nicholas Belmonte who worked side by side with Robert and a niece Bonnie Belmonte. Many extended family members and a host of friends. His only sister, Shirley Belmonte pre deceased him. Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He cherished the time he could spend with them at birthdays, holidays and special occasions. Roberts’s family always came first in his life before his own needs. He made sure; his family always had what they needed. Bob was an incredible cook, which his family enjoyed. Most days when not working Bob could be found in the kitchen preparing something delicious. He enjoyed his getaways spending time at his summer home on Lake Quaboag with the peace and silence of fishing, watching the sunsets and the wildlife. Robert was an animal lover and will be missed by his best friend and dog Britt. He will forever remain in the hearts of everyone who met him. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours, Monday April 18th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be held Tuesday, April 19th from the funeral with a procession to Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St where his celebration of life Mass will be held at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in his name can be made to the NEADS Program, 305 Redemption Rock Trail, and Princeton, MA 01541.
