Son, Marcus is known as “Blake” to many. Just 32 years young he filled all of our hearts with enough love and laughter to last us our lifetimes. He was born in Worcester and had lived in Worcester for all of his life. He graduated from Doherty Memorial High School. He is survived by his loving mother, Valerie D. Blakney of Worcester and his father, Gerald Prince of Worcester. He leaves his paternal grandmother, Edna Williams of Worcester and his maternal grandparents, Margaret and Joseph Blakney of Worcester. Marcus had an amazing relationship with so many people who cared about him including, his two longtime friends, James “Ike” McBride and Greg Brown, his wonderful aunts, uncles and cousins. He was grateful for the love he shared with his two very close uncle’s Joe & Michael Blakney. Marcus was employed with Eliot Community Human Services. He was a club member for the Boys & Girls Club Ionic Ave, he loved listening to music, and he had a passion for electronic gadgets of all sorts. He loved all sports and his favorite team was the Los Angeles Lakers and the Alabama Crimson Tide. He never missed watching a game! He was a mellow soul; such an easy going, no-fuss type of guy with a great sense of humor. We will miss your smile and laughter, Marcus. It brightened our days. We were blessed to have you in our lives and will be dearly missed by many. A worship celebration will be held in remembrance of Marcus’s beautiful life and dedication to his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 11:00am at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 717 Main Street Worcester.
