Theresa J. Merolla

Theresa J. (Gallagher) Merolla, 67 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Holy Trinity Nursing Home after a long battle with cancer. Theresa is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Anthony A. Merolla; two sons, Christopher and Nicholas Merolla both of Worcester; her brother John F. Gallagher and his wife Donna of Barre; two sisters, Kathy Saulnier and her husband Richard of Worcester and Judy Kozak of Auburn; several nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by two daughters, Jonetta and Christine Merolla. Theresa was born in Worcester, a daughter to the late John F. and Lois (Parrott) Gallagher. She graduated from St. Stephen’s School, Class of 1966.  She later received her associate’s degree from Baystate College of Business in Boston.  Theresa was an executive secretary and administrative assistant for the former Thom McAnn, Worcester Center Leasing Associate and Chubb Services for over 20 years retiring in 2013.  She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church.  Theresa’s passion was breeding and raising West Highland White Terriers.  She enjoyed going to classic car shows with friends and family, traveling especially cruises, reading and spending time with her family. Services for Theresa will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Worcester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant St., Worcester.  Burial will follow at Saint John Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 31st from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: American Cancer Society, P.O.
