Patsy M. Fantasia, Sr., 93, of Worcester, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. His beloved wife of fifty-six years, Raffaela “Vi” (Latino) Fantasia, predeceased him in January 2001. Patsy is survived by his son, Patsy M. Fantasia, Jr. and his fiancé Adi Staras of Worcester; two grandchildren, Mark Fantasia and his wife Stephanie of Boylston, and Stacy Wilkes and her husband Michael of Whitinsville; four great grandchildren, Michael, Mia, Ana, and Andrew; his daughter in law, Judith (Laskowski) Lamarche of Worcester; two sisters, Mary DiLiddo of Worcester, and Dolly Carlson of Worcester; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Alfred “Fred” Fantasia. Patsy was born in Worcester, son of the late, Domenic and Carolina (Scricco) Fantasia, and has called Worcester his home all his life. Patsy began working at F & G Construction when he was sixteen years old; he retired as a heavy equipment operator in 1987. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, the Brown Square Civic Club, and the Knights of Columbus. Pat enjoyed many years golfing with his friends at Green Hill and meeting for coffee at McDonalds, where they would reminisce and solve the problems of everyday life. He cherished being surrounded by family and loved ones, especially his great grandchildren. Papa was such a loving presence in our family. Always generous of heart, kind, and loving. Rest well Papa. We miss and love you always. Funeral Services will be held privately. Interment will be in Saint John’s Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
