Alice M. (Streeter) Schmidt, 69, of Worcester, formerly of Berlin, known for her loving kindness, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, in Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Worcester. Alice is survived by her dedicated husband, Rodney W. Schmidt; two daughters, Leanne Winkler and her husband Paul of Concord, MA, and Jennifer Schmidt of Connecticut; two grandchildren, Ellery and Madeleine; a brother, Donald Streeter of Salem, New Hampshire; a sister, Beverly Mansfield of Holden; several nieces and nephews. Her mother, Winifred (Parker) Streeter Gutleber, passed away on February 16, 2016. Alice was born in Orange, Massachusetts, daughter of the late, Donald Streeter. She graduated from Oakmont High School and attended Fisher Junior College. She was a tireless woman whose energy and warmth was felt by everyone. During her time at Beaumont she became “family” to the caring staff and residents. A moment would never pass where someone wasn't stopping to say Hello to Alice. Her personality and vibrant smile made everyone feel welcome and loved." Alice was a vibrant young mother, who was not only dedicated to her family but also gave much of her time at her beloved church. Between her real estate, cosmetic and jewelry sales, she raised her loving daughters and volunteered at First Congregational Church of Berlin; she was also a compassionate volunteer for those mentally and physically challenged. A Calling Hour for Alice will be held on Thursday, March 31, from 11 a.m. until her Memorial Service at 12 Noon in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.
