Leonard M. Troio, 87, of North Oxford, passed away with his devoted wife and family by his side, Wednesday, March 23rd 2016. Leonard leaves his wife of 47 years, Mary (Hall) Troio, eight children, Maureen McHugh and her husband Kevin, Matthew Troio and his wife Nancy, Kevin Troio and his wife Janet, Stephen Troio and his wife Jen, Keith Troio, Tammy Tovmassian and her husband Jack, Alfred Vanasse and his wife Brenda, Nola Drew and her husband Steven; two sisters, Esther Troio and Marion Spencer; 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; his best friend and poodle Molly Ann; Many Nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A sister, Geraldine Thompson pre deceased him. Lenny was born in Worcester, son of Italian immigrants Matteo and Anna (Palmieri) Troio. Educated in Worcester, Lenny and Mary lived in Worcester until moving to North Oxford 21 years ago. Lenny worked and was a fixture for Barbers Crossing tending bar for many years. He previously worked at the Jefferson Village House in Holden and the former Pullman Standard in Worcester. Lenny truly enjoyed his life. He loved camping with Mary and Molly Ann at many places around the country for 35 years. He enjoyed playing cards and especially being with Mary, Molly Ann, his grand and great grandchildren. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Tuesday, March 29th from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Worcester. His funeral will be held Wednesday, March 30th from the funeral home leaving in procession at 9:15 am to St Pius X/ St Joseph church, 1154 Main Street, Leicester where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am.
