Janice H. (Savage) Mahoney, 78 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family. Janice is survived by her husband of 56 years, John F. Mahoney; three daughters, Mary Mahoney and her fiancé Vito Piscitello, Donna Kata and her husband Henry and Susan Simpson and her husband Gerald; a brother, Walter Savage; four sisters, Elizabeth Dmochoski, Joan McDonald, Beverly Marsh and Donna Norwood; four grandchildren, Tucker Stewart, Jesslyn Reed, Stefan Howard and Keith Taylor; four great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a sister, M. Shirley Olson. Janice was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Walter T. and Mary E. (Moore) Savage. She graduated from Commerce High School, Class of 1955. Janice worked as the business manager for the City of Worcester Public Library for 20 years before she retired in 2001. After retirement, Janice was a lottery agent at Bennie’s Café in Worcester for many years. She was a lifetime fan and avid lover of the Boston Red Sox. She also enjoyed the New England Patriots. Her favorite thing to do was spending time with her grandson Keith. A period of calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016 from 11 am to 1 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will be held privately.
