Alice C. Elliott

Alice C. (Greene) Elliott, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016, surrounded by loving family members.  She was predeceased by her husband, Francis J. Elliott in 2005.  Alice is survived by her two daughters, Gloria MacKoul and her husband John MacKoul, and Alice Carreau; a daughter in law, Carol Elliott, all of Worcester; four grandchildren, James Carreau and his wife Susan, Michelle Carreau, and Jennifer MacKoul, all of Worcester, and Jeffrey Elliott and his wife Melissa of Virginia; six grandchildren, Seth, Michael, Ryan, and Jake, all of Worcester, and Benjamin and Emily of Virginia; a great grand-daughter, Rylee of Worcester.  She is also survived by a brother, Roland Greene of California; two sisters, Beverly Butrym and Jeannine Casey, both in Florida; a close sister in law, Joan Greene of Worcester; many nieces and nephews.  Alice was predeceased by her son, Francis J. Elliott, Jr. in 2014, and by her son in law, James Carreau in 2015; she was also predeceased by three brothers and six sisters.  She was born in Hopedale, daughter of the late, Stanley and Pearl (Tewksbury) Greene; they soon moved to Worcester, where she has lived all her life.  Alice was devoted to her family and loved to bake themed birthday cakes for all of her grandchildren.  She enjoyed music and was a self-taught pianist.  Her children remember fondly, that their mother always opened their home to any friend or family.  Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, March 24, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.  Her Funeral will be held on Friday, March 25, from the funeral home, departing in procession at 9:30 a.m. for a 10 a.m. Liturgy of The Word Service at Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove Street, Worcester.  Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.  The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff on the fifth floor at Jewish Healthcare Center, for the care and compassion shown to their mother.  Donations in her memory may be made to Jewish Healthcare Center, 629 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
