Anna D. (Catucci) Ciullo, 97, of Worcester passed away peacefully Saturday, March 12, 2016 with her devoted daughter by her bedside. Anna’s husband of 56 years, Joseph A. Ciullo passed away in 1997. She is survived by her two children, John Ciullo and his wife Angela of Yarmouthport, and Beverly Aquino of Worcester; two grandsons, Stephen Aquino and his wife Karen, and Paul Aquino; Nieces, nephews and extended family members. Her son in law, Anthony Aquino passed away in 2004. A sister Rose Birosak and brother, James DeLuca also pre deceased her. Born in Derby Ct, Anna’s parents were Nicola and Pietrina Catucci and she came to Worcester as an infant and has lived here all her life. Anna an accomplished stitcher, worked many years for the Hawthorne Manufacturing. and previously the New England Sales Company before retiring. Anna was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She loved to cook and, bake especially Italian delicacies of gravy, meatballs and Italian cookies. Anna enjoyed Bingo and traveling with groups on bus trips. A Simple woman of Italian Heritage, Anna believed her husband, her children and grandchildren always came first in her life no matter what. She was the backbone of her family and remained devoted to them throughout her life. She truly believed that faith, family and friends were most important and she had room in her heart for everyone she met. With a great smile and easy going personality, Anna was very generous with her love, her time and her resources. She would help anyone she could. The family wishes to express a note of deep appreciation and gratitude to the staff at St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, as well as Life Choice Hospice for the loving and compassionate care she received while there. Anna’s funeral will be held Wednesday, March 16th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St with a procession to Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, where her celebration of Life funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am. Entombment next to her husband will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum. A period of calling hours will be held from 9:00 am to 10:30 am prior to leaving for mass. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. or St Francis Home, 101 Plantation St., both in Worcester 01604.
