Louis J. Rossetti,96, of Worcester died peacefully Friday March 4, 2016 in the Lutheran Home surrounded by his loving family. He Is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years Celesta M. (Scappaticci) Rossetti, his loving children, Stephen L Rossetti and his wife Maureen of Salisbury MA. formerly of Shrewsbury, Sheila R. Lathrop and her husband Herbert of Maine and Maryann Pelissier and her husband Kevin of Hadley MA. Louis was the proud Poppa to his six grandchildren, Stephen and his wife Jill, Robert and his wife Lorena, Kevin, Danielle and her husband Jonathan, Joseph, and Michael. He adored his great grandchildren, Matthew, John, Ryan Louis, Sebastian , Camryn, and Zachary. Louis also leaves his two brothers, Nicholas and Anthony Rossetti , and his sister Josephine Pietro, and two close sisters in law Alicia Picard and Anna Cargiulo and her husband Maurice, also many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his twin brother Antonio, and a brother Christopher, and four Sisters, Jean, Madeline, Michelina, and Margaret. Louis was also predeceased by his loving daughter Frances Arduca who died in 1998. Louis was born in Worcester son of the late Angelo and Francesca (Dagostino) Rossetti and lived here all his life. He proudly served his nation during WW11 in the United States Army, and participated in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. He received a Victory Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. Upon returning to Worcester he married the love of his life Celesta and they started their family. He worked at the Rockwood Sprinkler Company, for several years and also worked part time at the former T&T Grille on Main Street. He later went to work for the former Neles-Jamesbury Corporation where he worked for many years before he retired. Louis was a long time member of the Church of Our Lady of Loreto, and was a life member of the Pope John XX111 Council #5481. He was also a long time member of the Bishop O’Reilly Council, and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #4. He enjoyed his daily walks, and was a big Yankee’s fan. Louis loved being in his vegetable garden during the summer months. Louis truly loved and found great pleasure spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Louis’ funeral will be held on Tuesday March 8, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30AM in the Church of Our Lady of Loreto 37 Massasoit Rd. Visiting with the family will be held on Monday evening from 4PM to 7PM in the funeral home. Interment with Military honors will be in St. Johns Cemetery.
