Marion (Ghizzi) Morris, 94, a longtime Charlton area resident passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 surrounded by the family she loved so much. Marion was born November 20th 1921, in Shrewsbury, one of thirteen children of Italian immigrants Frank and Theresa (Poggioli) Ghizzi. As a young child her family moved from Shrewsbury to the Lakeview neighborhood of Worcester. Marion graduated from Lakeview School and then from Commerce High School. In 1940, Marion married Fenwick O. Morris and for the next 53 years they raised their family in Worcester , moving to Charlton in 1954, where they lived 39 years with Love and family until Fenwick passed away in 1993. Marion continued to live in Charlton until she passed. She is survived by her two children, Janet M. Hammond and her husband Franklin of Charlton, James R. “Jimmy” Morris and his wife Priscilla of Oxford; two brothers, Frank Ghizzi in Worcester and Richard Ghizzi in California; five grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Four brothers, Henry, Peter, John, and Phillip Ghizzi and six sisters, Margaret Poggioli, Louise Ghizzi, Ida McGrath, Ann Ghizzi, Rose Delgrosso and Helen Leofanti all pre deceased her. A simple Italian mother, who enjoyed the most precious thing in life; her family. She dedicated her life to raising them, keeping them close and being a part of a large Italian extended family. She loved to cook and have them around her at family special occasions and holidays. Marion’s funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, March 3rd at 11:00 am in St. Joseph’s Church, 10 H Putnam Rd, Charlton. Burial next to Fenwick will follow in North Side Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions in her name can be made to St Joseph’s Church, 10H Putnam Rd Charlton.
