Gerard “Gerry” Caissie, 57, of Perkiomenville, PA, formerly of Worcester passed away unexpectedly early in the morning on Tuesday, February 23rd, 2016. Gerard was born and raised in Worcester, the son of Sylvain J. & Claire M (Maillet) Caissie. In addition to his parents, Gerard is survived by his wife of over twenty-five years Kim M. (Moore) Caissie; a son, Mark R. Caissie and his partner Kaitlyn Brown of Perkiomenville, PA; two daughters, Kayla M. Caissie and her partner Albert Pirela of Perkiomenville, PA and Monique N. Caissie of Ware, MA; a sister, Marguerite M. Herrie and her husband Alan of Spencer, MA; three brothers, Norman J. Caissie of Worcester, John J. Caissie and his wife Linda (Wilkinson) of Whitman, MA, Robert J. Caissie and his wife Sandra (Caprera) of Webster. He also leaves seven nephews, seven nieces, one great-nephew, seven great-nieces, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was a graduate of Doherty High School and he worked for the Diocese of Worcester at Notre Dame Cemetery for over twenty years as a grounds keeper. Gerard later decided to pursue a career as a truck driver and graduated from New England Tractor Trailer Training School. He worked as a driver for LSF Trucking Company in Hatfield, PA. As a child Gerard had a mind for mechanics. He enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together again to see how they worked. As an adult Gerard used his passion to repair things and he found happiness by helping people fix their vehicles. He also enjoyed video games, horseshoes, cribbage and playing practical jokes. He loved the Patriots and was an avid Tom Brady fan. He loved driving long haul and realized his lifelong dream of becoming a truck driver when he moved to Pennsylvania. Gerard was part of a large close-knit extended family and more than anything else he loved to spend his time in their company. Friends and Relatives are invited to a period of visitation on Sunday, February 28th, 2016 from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St. Worcester, MA. A funeral Service will follow immediately afterward at 6 p.m. in the Funeral Home. Burial will be held privately at a later time.
