Nancy C. DiMauro, 86, formerly of Dana Ave in Worcester, a longtime Shrewsbury business owner passed away peacefully Sunday February 21st 2016 surrounded by her loving family and lifelong friends. Nancy was born in Worcester, a daughter of Natale and Madeline (Campaniello) DiMauro. She attended David Hale Fanning High School (Girls Trade) class of 1948 . Nancy then accepted a position with Leo’s Beauty Salon in downtown Worcester. She then moved to Leo’s Beauty Salon in Shrewsbury, later purchasing the business, becoming Nancy’s 252 Hair Salon which she owned and operated for many years before retiring after 50 years as a hairdresser. She has lived in Worcester all her life. Nancy was predeceased by her two brothers, Joseph and Michael DiMauro and two sisters, Angela DiMauro and Lucretia (DiMauro) Sibley. She leaves behind nine nieces and nephews, Michael, Paul, and Lisa DiMauro of Spencer, Joseph DiMauro of Albany,NY, John DiMauro of Barre, Michael DiMauro of Hyannis, Kevin DiMauro of Hubbardston, Margret Mary Ashmankus of Sandwich and Paul Sibley of Auburn: Many other cousins, great nieces and nephews and many friends who loved her deeply.Nancy was a member of the Worcester Lodge #168, Sons of Italy and Our Lady of Mt Carmel-St Ann Parish. She was a beautiful person enjoying the simple pleasures of life; spending time with family and friends, family dinners, talks over coffee, her many enjoyable adventures to Italy, Greece and cruising the oceans. Her most memorable moments in life were spending time at her summer home in Falmouth she called “Shangri-La”, where she adored entertaining. Nancy truly believed that faith, family and friends were the most important things in life and had room in her heart for everyone she met. She was very generous with her love, time and resources, and helped anyone she could. A period of calling hours will be held Friday, February 26th from 9:00 am to 10:30 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. before proceeding in procession to Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Millbury St where her Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Burial in the family lots in St John’s Cemetery will follow. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in her name can be made to Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. 01604.
