Reverend Ronald Joe Anderson, of Webster, Pastor of North Star Cathedral of Hope Church in Worcester, passed away unexpectedly Thursday December 24th 2015. Ron was born in Tuscola, Illinois, November 27, 1943. One of two sons of Marvin and Faye (Rousseau) Anderson. He grew up in Illinois and attended schools in Kansas City, MO and Reno, NV. He received his Divinity Degree and then became part of an evangelistic team traveling throughout the United States and Mexico. Pastor Anderson’s favorite verse in the bible was John 3:16 and believed “All” people are welcomed by Jesus Christ. In 1994, Pastor Ron accepted his present position guiding the spiritual lives of North Star Cathedral of Hope in Worcester. He was devoted to his faith, his ministry and the church. He touched many lives throughout a 50 year ministry. Reverend Anderson was also a Home Provider for HMEA, (Horace Mann Educational Associates). He mentored and friended an adult individual in his home for 12 years. Reverend Anderson served for a time as Chaplin in the Massachusetts State Police Association. He was an associate of “Viridian Energy,” supplying green energy to its customers. Ron loved music, especially singing and playing the piano. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, reading and the movies, particularly the Star Trek Trilogy. Pastor Ron was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lawrence “Larry” Anderson. He is survived by numerous cousins around the US as well as the church members he chose to call his family. Memorial services will be held Monday, April 18, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Aldersgate Methodist Church, 1048 Main Street in Worcester. Following the memorial service there will be a mercy dinner at Grille 57, 57 Highland Street, Worcester, MA.
