Jose C. Reyes, of Worcester passed away with his cherished family by his side Wednesday, February 3th 2016 after a long illness. Jose was born in Conchagua, El Salvador, a son of Jose and Maria (Garcia) Reyes. He lived and educated in El Salvador before immigrating to the United States, where he worked on Long Island New York as a Chef many years, before retiring due to illness, and moving to Worcester. In 1984, Jose married Encarnacion Galdamez and for the next 42 years lived together in love and family raising their family. He is survived by his wife Encarnacion, four children, Iris Reyes in New York, Jimmy Galdamez and his wife Sinia Mendez of Worcester, Anny Reyes in Clinton, and Josue Reyes in Worcester; eight grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. Jose was a member of the House of Prayer Church and loved to preach the word of God. A simple man who loved to cook, travel and watch WWF. His family was the most important thing in his life, He truly believed that faith, family and friends were the most important things in his life. He was very generous with his love, time and resources, and helped anyone he could. Funeral services for Jose will be held, Monday February 8th at 10:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours for Jose will be held Sunday, February 7thj from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the funeral home.
