Mary D. (Sciascia) Rotolo, 90 of Spencer, formerly of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Quaboag on the Common in West Brookfield surrounded by her loving family. Mary’s husband Pasquale Rotolo passed away in 1989. She is survived by her son, Francis Rotolo and his wife Nancy of Leicester; her daughter, Maria D. Mathieson of Spencer; four grandchildren, Nicholas Brier and his wife Jessica of Spencer, Savanna Brier of Pawtucket, RI, Michael Rotolo and his wife Melissa of Southbridge and Tammy Russin of Florida; seven step-grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a son, Anthony Rotolo; a son-in-law, Carl Mathieson; four brothers, John, Philip, Joseph and Julio “Charlie” Sciascia; two sisters, Phyllis Cicero and Lucy Guiliano. Mary was born in Worcester, a daughter to the late Pantaleo and Apolonia (Valenti) Sciascia. She attended Worcester Public Schools and lived here until 2009 when she moved to Spencer. Mary was a Personal Care Assistant for the Visiting Nurses Association for 20 years. She also was a senior companion and retired in 2005. Mary was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and S.S. Madonna Addorlorata Women’s Society/ Our Lady of Sorrows. She enjoyed crafts, playing cards and word puzzles. She especially loved playing cards and ball with her great grandson Caiden and having her family all together. Services for Mary will be held on Friday, February 5, 2015 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 4th from 4-7 pm in the funeral home.
