Antoinette (Girard) Guyer, 96, of Shrewsbury passed away Sunday, January 24th 2016 in her home at Shrewsbury Crossing surrounded by her loving family. Antoinette is survived by her husband of 23 years, Charles Guyer; her two sons, Allan Risedorf and his wife Doreen of Winsted CT, Bruce Risedorf and his wife Denise of Shrewsbury; a stepdaughter, Sarah Jones of North Andover; eight beloved grandchildren, Tracy Chronis, Scott, Shane, and Adam Risedorf, Regan DeSimone, Heidi Ford, Holly Hineman and Jill Olander; 15 fascinating great grandchildren; Nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was predeceased by her loving daughter Janice McCannon and sisters, Florence Canter, Mae Hayes, and Jeanette Hedberg. Antoinette was born in Winsted, CT a twin daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Caritey) Girard. She graduated from the University of Vermont. Antoinette owned and operated Annette’s Bridal Salon, as well as serving as Head designer of Holiday Handicrafts both in Winsted. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury. Antoinette was a classy lady with a great sense of humor who enjoyed being most active and creative, especially while gardening in her flower garden, bird watching, cooking, entertaining and being with family. In her younger years she enjoyed ski jumping, golfing and daily exercise. Funeral services and burial with family in Winsted CT will be held privately.
