Edward C. Marengo, 82, formerly of Gordon St. passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 27th 2016. Edward was born in Worcester, one of five children of William E. and Nellie M. (Mayo) Marengo. He grew up and lived in Worcester all his life. Edward’s longtime friend Josephine Pecorelli passed away November 11th of last year. He is survived by several nieces and nephews as well as the Klugman, Ferraro and Pecorelli families. Three brothers, Richard, Raymond “Red” and William Marengo as well as two sisters, Dorothy Kowalski and Irene Ashton pre deceased him. Ed worked as a Security Guard for more than 10 years and previously worked as a Press Operator for Parker Metal Company. He loved to walk throughout the city always making friends as he went. He was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church. The family would like to thank Dr. Elkerm, Elaine and the B-Unit nursing staff for the wonderful care he received while he resided at the Life Care Center of Leominster. Edward’s funeral will be held Friday, January 29th 2016, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Rd. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 am to 10:30 am prior to leaving for the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Life Care Center of Leominster Activities Department.
