Barbara (Lowder) Petroskovich, 78, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Holden, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2015, at UMass Hospital.Barbara had a son, David J. Petroskovich; and she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Petroskovich. She is survived by a sister, Marilyn Sturgis-Mangano of Shrewsbury; three grandchildren, Alyssa Stacey, Emily Stacey, and Caroline Stacey; her former daughter in law, Sheryl Stacey and Geary Stacey. She is also survived by two nephews, Stephen F. Sturgis and his wife Shelley, and Michael P. Sturgis and Constance; nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Eveleth P. and Hazel (Palmer) Lowder, and graduated from Commerce High in Worcester in 1955.Barbara loved her home and tending to her yard and its gardens. She was a dedicated volunteer for the women’s auxiliary of the Salvation Army. Barbara retired in 2007, from Sam’s Club in Worcester, where she worked for over sixteen years as a sample hostess.Calling hours for Barbara will be held on Tuesday, December 29, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., concluding with a Prayer Service at 6 p.m., in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Interment at Mountain View Cemetery, will be done privately.
