Peter M. Pavone,92 of Worcester died peacefully on Wednesday December 23, 2015 in the UMASS Memorial Hospital. His wife Louise E. DeSalvio died March 4, 2015. He is survived by a son Peter P. Pavone of CT. and his companion Ann Vaughn, a devoted step daughter Maureen Mastrovito of Shrewsbury. He also leaves his loving grandchildren Jason S. Mastrovito and his wife Allison, and Lisa Wilhelmsen and her husband Eric.Peter also leaves his three great grandchildren,Hannah Josephine Mastrovito, Emily Rose Wilhelmsen and Harper Bailey Mastrovito. Two brothers Antonio and Frank Pavone, and a sister Frances Kewley and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a step son Angelo SantaMaria. Peter was born in Grottaminarda, Provencia de Avellino Italy son of the late Antonio and Carmella (Cappucio) Pavone and lived in Worcester many years. He was a graduate of Commerce High School. Mr. Pavone served in the United States Army Air Force during WWII. Peter worked for the Pratt and Whitney company for several years and also worked for the Worcester School Department as a Custodian before he retired. Peter was a former member of St. Christopher and Our Lady of Loreto Church. He was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4181. In 2014 Peter received a Citation from the Council for 50 years of service to the Knights. Peter was a quiet man that enjoyed being with his family, and playing his daily numbers game. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. The Family would like to thank Dr. Catherine DuBeau and Kathleen Juchnow for their outstanding kindness and compassion shown to Peter and Louise. Peter’s s funeral will be held Wednesday December 30, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & Chapel 370 Plantation St. Calling hours will be held from 9AM until 10:30AM. Followed by his Mass of Christian burial at 11:AM in the Church of Our Lady of Loreto 37 Massasoit Rd. Interment with his wife will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
