Lisa M. (Silvia) Gordon, 48, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2015, surrounded by loving family members at UMass Memorial Medical Center. Lisa is survived by her loving husband of twenty-two years, John S. Gordon; their two beautiful children, a daughter, Jennifer S. Gordon and a son, David E. Gordon, all at home in Shrewsbury. She is also survived by three sisters and their families, Marijo D. Carnino and her husband Michael of Foxboro, and their children, Michaela and Jonathan; Laurie A. Collins of Marshfield, and her children, Tara and Patrick; and Cheryl L. Flaherty of Quincy and her children, Olivia and Grace; and her mother in law, Carol A. (Corkum) Gordon of Boylston.Lisa born a daughter of the late, Edward R. and Gertrude (Kemp) Silvia. She grew up in Duxbury and graduated from high school there in 1985; she then matriculated into Saint Vincent Hospital School of Nursing and resided in Worcester; later moving to Shrewsbury in 1991, after marrying her best friend, John.Lisa’s life work was to help and care for others, and her patients were fortunate that she was able to continue to work at Saint Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in the ICU. She was a member of the Massachusetts Nurses Association, she loved Duxbury beach, and all kinds of animals. She found great happiness being with her family and friends, or simply enjoying a handful of M & M’s (plain, NO nuts).Calling Hours and a Funeral Service for Lisa will be held on Monday, December 28, at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with Calling Hours from 4 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., followed by her Funeral Service at 7:30 p.m.In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 1210 Pontiac Ave, Cranston, RI 02920, or by visiting www.LLS.org.
