Vincent S. Pace, 85, longtime Boylston resident passed away peacefully at home Friday, December 18, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Vincent’s beloved wife of fifty nine years, Joan F. (Dacey) Pace passed away October 12, 2014; He is survived by; four daughters, Patricia Ferrara of Worcester, Kathleen J. Beshai and her husband James of West Boylston, Maria Pace of Boylston, Maureen Spaulding and her husband Gary of Berlin; his son, Vincent A. Pace of Boylston; seven cherished grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband Edward, Kevin, Joseph, Nicole, Shannon, Jordynn and Rylee; a sister, Vera G. Novick of Worcester; a sister-in-law, Shirley Pace of Worcester, a brother in law, Timothy Dacey, Jr. and his wife Marie of Spencer; several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Besides his parents, Vincent was predeceased by a brother, Virgilio A. Pace. Vincent was born in Worcester, a son of the late Salvatore and Carmela (Zumpano) Pace. He graduated from Commerce High School, joined the U.S. Army during the Korean War, proudly serving his country, earning the Bronze Star medal for Valor in battle. Upon his return from Korea, Vincent accepted a position with Stop & Shop Company where he worked for more than 44 years retiring as a store manager. He was a member of St Mary of the Hills Church in Boylston. After Vincent married Joan, they made Boylston their home for over fifty four years. He will be remembered for his love of his family, his willingness to always help a friend or neighbor, his strength, sense of humor and the loving care he gave to all his children and grandchildren. Vincent was a regular “Mr. Fix It” and could be found most days tinkering, puttering and fixing most anything around his house or lending a helping hand to anyone else in need. Vincent would always add two words to his goodbyes, as all his children, grandchildren or anyone who left his home can attest, “Be Careful”. Services for Vincent will be held on Tuesday, December 22nd from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours on Monday, December 21st from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the funeral home.
