David H. Elie, 68, of Worcester, passed away Thursdays, December 17th 2015. Surrounded by his family and loved ones. David was born in Worcester, one of five children of the late, Raymond J. and Julia (Doherty) Elie. He graduated from Worcester Public Schools; joined the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War serving his country proudly. He was a Long time resident of the city. David is survived by his three children, Seth Elie and his wife Lisa their sons John, Seth, and Noah of Fall River, David Elie and his fiancée Donna of Boston, Karen Mathieu Thomas and her children Micheal and Jaylie in Maryland; 3 brothers, Arthur Elie and his wife Marlene, the late James Elie and the late Donald Elie. A sister Patricia Coyne and her husband Paul all of Worcester; his former wife, Marilyn (Wilmot) Elie; and is beloved nieces, nephews and extended family. David known as "Uncle Dave" not only to his nieces and nephews, but to all the young men and women whom he helped along his way. Davids love for his family was first and foremost the most important part of his life. David spent the last two years of his retirment living in Boston and overjoyed and proudly helping his sons at Acme Body and Paint. To David attending his grandchildren’s activities and never missing a family gathering or special occasion is what David enjoyed most. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours, Sunday, December 20th 2015 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be held Monday, December 21st from the funeral home with a procession to Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St. Burial with Marine Corps honors next to his parents will follow in St. John Cemetery.
