View Memorial Video Margaret F. (Thompson) King of Worcester passed away peacefully at UMass Memorial Medical Center on Saturday, December 12th, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of forty-three years, Anthony King, predeceased her in 2002. Margaret was born in Boston, daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Berger) Thompson and attended Boston University and Worcester State College. She was a medical technologist in bacteriology at Memorial Hospital for over thirty-five years. She is survived by her daughter, Julia King and her partner Eric Cournoyer; many nieces and nephews including, Kathy McDonald, Kayla McFarland, Kristin Wheeler, and predeceased by her sister, Anna Alfano, as well as by a great nephew, Brendon Scalesse and grand-niece, Brittany Scalesse. Margaret was a member of All Saints Church and the Choral Arts Society. She loved music, birds, nature and her loving pets. Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 19th at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church 10 Irving Street, Worcester. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be Friday, December 18th from 4pm until 7pm at Mercadante Funeral Home, & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.
