Doris Ruby (Dougall) Rondeau, 90, of Worcester, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at Notre Dame Long Term Care Center. Her husband of fifty-nine years, Raymond E. Rondeau, predeceased her in January 2009.Doris is survived by two daughters, Sharon M. Parodeau and her husband Vincent of Holden, and Marlene J. She was also pre deceased by a brother and three sisters, James Dougall, Lillian Scott, Catherine Cabana, and Margaret Pozzessere. Doris was born to a Scottish-French family, one of five children born to the late, William and Adjana (Chabot) Dougall. She attended Commerce High, in Worcester, and went on to work for 25 years at the Worcester Public Library. Our Lady, or Notre Dame, has always been a strong part of her life. She and her husband attended Notre Dame’s French-Canadian Church, in downtown Worcester. Four generations of her family had been married at Notre Dame. There was even a special plaque dedicated to the Rondeau family in the basement of the church for their generosity to the parish. They lived and raised their children in a house whose backyard looked out onto the Sisters of Notre Dame’s Cemetery. When Raymond passed away in 2009, Honeybee came to live at Notre Dame du Lac, and in 2012 she joined the community at Notre Dame Long Term Care, where she enjoyed being social, playing BINGO, and performing as part of the bell choir. Doris’ Catholic faith was very important to her and she was always involved in her church and its craft fairs. She also was a very involved member of the Frohsinn Club where she and her husband would dance the hours away on a Saturday night. She loved music and dancing. Doris’ children also remember how the whole neighborhood would have parties in the summer and everyone would look forward to going back to their parent’s house to listen to music on the player piano. During the summer the family also enjoyed vacations to Hampton Beach. Doris’ family would like to extend a heartfelt “thank you” to all of the wonderful care givers at Notre Dame, for the special care and compassion shown to “Honey Bee”, during her stay there.
