Marie A. Stepien

Marie A. (Lupisella) Stepien of Worcester passed away peacefully on November 19, 2015 at UMass Memorial Hospital with family by her side.She was born in Worcester on May 14, 1922 to Sebastian and Marie (Lentini) Lupisella. She married Stanley J. Stepien Jr. who predeceased her in 1980.She leaves her two sons Stephen J. Stepien and his wife Darlene of Worcester, and Michael S. Stepien and his wife Tammy of North Carolina, a beloved sister, Lisa Cosenza of Holden, three grandchildren, Marc Stepien, Brandy Miles and Stevianne Stepien, and five adored great grandchildren, Mitch Stepien, Victoria and Isabella Miles, Angelina and Anthony Stepien. She also leaves cherished nieces and nephews, and many dear friends including her lifelong friend Beverly “Chic” Paolino.She was predeceased by her three brothers, Anthony, Joseph and Lee Lupisella, a niece, Carol Woods and nephew Anthony Lupisella.“Ann”, as she was called, was a lifelong resident of Worcester and graduated from Commerce High School. She worked for many years as a waitress at Wachusett Country Club, Dino’s Restaurant, and The Plantation Club. In her younger years she enjoyed oil painting and playing golf and she would take no prisoners when it game to playing cards and bingo. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed Italian cooking, and on holidays she loved preparing her special dish…pudda-pudda’s. No one has been able to duplicate that recipe.She had a big heart and was always there to help those in need. She will be dearly missed and forever loved.In memory of Ann, please consider doing a kind deed that will help brighten life for another.At Ann’s request there are no calling hours.
