Elizabeth A. (Fassett) Snyder,84, a long time resident of Shrewsbury died peacefully Thursday November 19, 2015 in St. Mary’s Healthcare Center surrounded by her loving family. Her husband George G. Snyder died in 1990, and her son George E. Snyder died in 2011. Elizabeth leaves her loving family; a son Philip J.Snyder and his wife Susan of Worcester, two daughters Linda M. Snyder, and Denise A. Snyder both of Shrewsbury. She was the loving grandmother to; Timothy, Katherine, Kara Schneider and her husband Ron, and Laurie Fournier and her husband Matt. Elizabeth was predeceased by one Brother Edward F. Fassett, and three sisters; Mary H. Fassett, Margaret I. Elsworth, and Claire T. Malley. Elizabeth was born in Worcester daughter of the late Edward J. and Mary M.(Falvey) and lived in Shrewsbury most of her life. She was a graduate of Ascension High School. Elizabeth worked for the Worcester welfare office for many years as a Social worker. She was a member of the church of St. Anne’s and also attended St. John’s Church. “Betty’s” greatest joy in life was her family. She loved being with them especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Her children would like to thank the staff at St Mary’s Healthcare and the Coleman House for their kindness and compassion shown to them and their Mother during her illness. It is greatly appreciated. Elizabeth’s funeral will be held on Tuesday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30AM in the Church of St. John 40 Temple St. Calling hours will be held on Monday evening from 4PM to 7PM in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery alongside her husband and son.
