Angela A. (Napoli) Capurso, 85,born in Brockton, MA and a long time Worcester, MA resident passed away peacefully Thursday, November 19, 2015, with those she loved gathered by her bedside. Angela was the daughter of Italian immigrants Carmelo and Maria (Voci) Napoli. She graduated from Commerce High school and Broms Academy. In 1962, Angela married Maurice N. Capurso and together began to raise their son, Ralph before Maurice passed away unexpectedly in 1972 after 10 years of marriage. Angela worked as a cosmetologist for various hair salons in Worcester before retiring. Angela is survived by her devoted and cherished son, Ralph J. Capurso of Worcester; two brothers, CPO Armando J. Napoli (USN ret) of Newport, RI, and Colonel Joseph F. Napoli (USA ret) and his wife Lucy of Marion, MA; her brother and sister in law, William and Lena Harvey; Nieces, nephews, extended family and friends; Besides her husband, two brothers John and Nicholas Napoli and a sister in law, Rose Napoli, pre deceased her. Angela was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church and its Golden year’s association. Angela enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting and shopping. Widowed with a young son, Angela had an unwavering faith that kept her grounded and helped her through her life’s challenges. Her son, Ralph always came first in her life no matter what. She was the backbone for him and remained devoted to Ralph throughout her life. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Monday, November 23rd from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St, Worcester, MA. Her funeral will be held Tuesday, November 24th from the funeral home with a procession to Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester, MA, where Monsignor Stephen Pedone will celebrate her Mass at 10:00 am. Burial next to her husband will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, MA. The Capurso family would like to thank the Christopher House, Putnam Unit, especially Nadine for the outstanding care, compassion and comfort they gave to Angela during a difficult time.
