Theresa R. (Libuda) Wayman, 76, of Worcester, former Worcester Fire Department administrative assistant, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 17th 2015 with family gathered by her side. Theresa was born in Worcester, a daughter of Polish immigrants Boleslaw and Rozalia (Michalski) Libuda. She graduated from St Mary’s High School and has lived here all her life. Theresa worked for the city of Worcester more than 25 years, first as a secretary for the Worcester School Department, then accepting a position in the Worcester Fire Department as Administrative Assistant to the Chief, serving more than four chiefs before retiring. Theresa is survived by her three children, David T. Murphy of Worcester, Monica R. Coakley and her husband Thomas “TJ” of Charlton, Pamela J. Pingeton and her husband Jeffrey of Sterling; a brother Richard Libuda of Florida and a sister Lucille Rybaci of South Carolina; Six cherished grandchildren who lovingly called her “Babci” Megan, Kevin, Daniel, Mary Elizabeth, Caroline and Jack; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Her former husband, Kenneth Wayman and sister, Frances Lysczynski pre deceased her. Theresa truly believed that faith, family and friends were the most important things in her life. She had room in her heart for everyone she met. Theresa enjoyed traveling, the beach, playing card and board games as well as spending the greatest times in her life with her grandchildren. She was very generous with her love, time and resources, and helped anyone who needed it. She was a member of St Joan of Arc Churchand proud participant of its church choir. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Friday, November 20th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Saturday, November 21st from the funeral home with a procession to St Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
