Kenneth M. Haig, 84 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at UMass Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Kenneth was the beloved husband for 58 years to Beverly (Ross) Haig. He is also survived by his son, Ross J. Haig; his daughter, Jean M. Haig and her significant other Joseph Leveilee all of Worcester; a brother, David D. Haig, II and his wife Barbara of Shrewsbury; a sister-in-law, Christine C. Haig of Worcester; three grandchildren, twins Cara J. Haig and her fiancé Zack Hallinan of Worcester and Ross W. Haig and his wife Ashley of Mississippi and Alexander M. Haig and his girlfriend Kayla Lloyd; two great grandchildren, Damion R. & Gabriella A. Haig; a nephew, John V. Haig of Worcester. He is predeceased by his nephew, David D. Haig, III. Kenneth was born in Worcester, a son of the late David D. and Adelle C. (Marcell) Haig. He graduated from North High School. Kenneth received his Bachelor's Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Northeastern. He later received his Master's Degree in Special Needs from Assumption College, Class of 1976. Kenneth worked alongside his brother as owner, operator and a pharmacist at Haig & Haig Drug, Inc. for fifty-two years from 1951 till he retired in 2003. He also worked as a special education teacher at Burncoat High School for twelve years retiring in 1992. Kenneth was a member of Saint Michael on the Heights Church, Order of the Freemason, and the Toast Masters. He enjoyed restoring cars especially his own and being with his family. After retirement, Kenneth and Beverly enjoyed traveling together and going on cruises. In their younger years, they enjoyed dancing to Big Band Music. Kenneth's memorial service will be celebrated on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. in the MERCADANTE FUENRAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will be held privately. A period of visitation will be held on Thursday, November 12th from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the funeral home prior to his memorial service.
