Helena "Helen" (Krysinski) Velez, 54, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 23rd 2015 surrounded by her family and friends. Helen was born in Kossaki, Poland, daughter of Franciszek Krysinski and the late Stanislawa (Bielinska) Krysinski. She came to Connecticut as a child, initially living in CT before moving to Worcester. She was the office manager for W.C.E.C for over 20 years and was the "go to" person for her colleagues. She was a member of Saint Joan of Arc Church and was a devoted Catholic who helped others through her guidance. Along with her husband, her children always came first in her life no matter what. She was the backbone of her family and remained devoted to her nearest and dearest, especially her beautiful grandchildren, who fondly called her "Cha". She was a beautiful person who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; spending time with family and friends, family dinners, talks over coffee or spiritus shots with her dear friends, needlework, cooking, and reading. She truly believed that faith, family and friends were the most important and she had room in her heart for everyone she met. She was very generous with her love, time and resources, and helped anyone she could. Her unwavering faith kept her grounded and helped her through life's challenges. Her passing leaves a hole in our hearts but her loving and caring soul will not be forgotten. Helen is survived by her husband of thirty-seven years, Galo Velez; two daughters, Lisa Velez and her husband Jai Harris and Janina Gonzalez-Velez and her husband Pablo Gonzalez all of Worcester; two step-sons, Joe and Juan Velez; her father, Franciszek Krysinski of Connecticut; two brothers, Jozef Krysinski and his wife Anna, Gerard Krysinski and his wife Danuta; her sister, Regina Albera and her husband Marty, all of Connecticut; three grandchildren, Jaisean, Arianna and Ryan. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Friday, October 30th from 4:00 pm to 7pm at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.
