Ronald P. Padovano, 74, of Leicester, formerly of Worcester passed away with the family he loved gathered by his bedside after a brief illness. Ron, a native of Worcester was born on April 17, 1941, one of seven children of Patsy and Katherine (Fulginiti) Padovano. He grew up on Grafton hill graduated from Commerce High School and lived here all his life before moving to Leicester recently. Ron worked in the Auto body industry most of his life. He began as a repair technician for Eastern Auto body Company in Worcester. Offered the opportunity to purchase the company, Ronald bought it and became President where he owned the shop until he retired. Ronnie then owned and operated with his wife Donna," Bagels and More" in Sutton, enjoying the opportunity to greet and serve his customers as they came in. He is survived by the family that loved him so much; his wife of 25 years, Donna M. (Mencer) Padovano; his children, Cheryl Lazzaro and her husband John of Millbury, Karen Duggan, Lisa Soucy and her husband Robert of Worcester, Joseph Senckowski III and his wife Brandi of Oakham. Nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Ronald also leaves behind his four siblings, Arthur A. Padovano of Farmington CT, William R. Padovano of Charlton and Richard W. Padovano of Whitinsville, and Kathy J. Kiritsy of Holden; Nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Beside his parents, Ronald was pre deceased by his sisters, Patricia J. Padovano and Maria J. Fotiades. Ron was an avid golfer all his life and 25 year member of the Pleasant Valley Country Club in Sutton. On most days in his spare time, you could find Ronald on the course. He also liked traveling to Arizona to play the courses there. He was a huge NY Giants and Yankees fan. He was a Civil War and World War II, history enthusiast. He enjoyed reading, watching documentaries and movies on those subjects. As part of his profession, Ronnie was a member and past president of the New England Auto body Association. He cherished his family and growing up in a large Italian family; Ronnie learned and held dear the meaning of family. He enjoyed the special moments, the holidays, a glass of wine all kinds and his wife's gourmet meals. These special moments with family are the memories of Ronnie that we will hold dear. Friends and relatives are invited to Calling hours, Tuesday, October 27th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be held Wednesday October 28th at 10 am from the funeral home with a procession to St Patrick's Church, 290 Main Street Rutland.
