Najeb "Nash" Haddad passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015, surrounded by his loving family, after a brief illness. He leaves his wife, Lorraine (Patriarca) Haddad; a son, Edward Haddad and his wife Nelya; daughter Judith Haddad and her partner Ann Brown, and daughter Ann-Marie Haddad; two grandsons, Roman Kovalchuk Haddad and Jadon Avey Haddad and a granddaughter, Julia Avey Haddad, all of Florida and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, William and Edward Haddad and two sisters, Olga Haddad and Effie Abdelnour. He was born in Worcester a son of the late Nicholas and Mary (Halal) Haddad. He attended Worcester public schools and enlisted in the United States Navy when he was 17 to fight in WWII. He served on the USS Ticonderoga aircraft carrier and was a proud Navy veteran. He was honored in a ceremony for WWII veterans with his high school diploma from North High School. He was a steelworker at Wyman Gordon's for 41 years and was instrumental with forming a United Steelworker local union, where he served as Secretary for many years. He cherished his time spent with family and was an avid fan of the New England sports teams. He was a devout and dedicated member of St. George's Orthodox Cathedral here in Worcester and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at St. George's Orthodox Cathedral on Anna Street in Worcester with a calling period from 9 to 9:45 AM. Burial will take place at Hope cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
