Marie S. (Bourque) Gosselin, 102 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 16, 2015 at UMass Memorial Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Marie's husband, Paul L. Gosselin passed away in 1981. She is survived by her son, David R. Gosselin and his wife Alfreda of Madison, MS; four daughters, Pauline Robertson and her husband Ronald of Pompano Beach, FL., Velma Davio wife of the late Richard Davio and Bernadette Spellane wife of the late Robert Spellane both of Worcester and Marie Anne Bloom and her husband Paul of Hudson, MA.; twenty grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son, Louis Gosselin who passed in 1978; her daughter, Rita Maki who passed in 1989; three brothers, Frank, Ernest and Gerard Bourque; her sister, Velma Bourque. Marie was born in Rogersville, Canada, a daughter of the late Raymond and Lorette (Arsenault) Bourque. She was a great mother. Having raised a large family, Marie enjoyed cooking, baking and especially her many grandchildren, but the thread woven through her entire life was her strong Christian faith. Marie was a long time member of the former Notre Dame Church and most recently Blessed Sacrament Church, and would say her prayers regularly. She was very devoted to her family and her faith. The Gosselin family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Jayanthi Kumar and all the doctors, nurses and staff at UMass Memorial Hospital, unit 2 south for the exceptional care and compassion given to Marie during her time of need. Marie's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 11 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 20th from 10-11 a.m. in church prior to her funeral mass.
