Malocke "Millie" (Dahrooge) Esper, longtime Shrewsbury residence passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones, Monday, October 12, 2015, after a period of declining health. Millie was 75 years of age. Millie was born on December 8, 1939 in Worcester, one of four children of Abraham "Danny" and Gladys (Gabis) Dahrooge. She graduated from Commerce High School, and attended Worcester State College and New England School of Accounting. Millie has lived in Worcester before moving to Shrewsbury in 1994. After retirement and during the winter months, Millie spent her time in Hallendale, Florida. Millie co-owned and operated with her husband George, Clearview and Esper Ice Company before retiring. She previously worked for Union Cartage Company as office manager. Millie's husband George S. Esper passed away, July 31st 2001. She is survived by her devoted and cherished family, Gail S. Esper-Collette and her husband Ernie of Northboro, and Joy Esper of Framingham and Provincetown; a brother, Eli Dahrooge of West Boylston; Two sisters, Josephine Gauthier of Millbury and Karen Melican of Worcester; three grandchildren that called her Grammy", Robert, Olivia and Daniel Collette; Nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Besides her husband George, Millie joined in heaven, her grandson Ryan Collette who passed away August 7, 2004. The Esper family would specifically like to thank, Millie's caregivers, Mavis and Georgina as well as the Notre Dame Hospice, for the care compassion and comfort they gave to her during a difficult time. Millie was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. She enjoyed playing Bingo, cards, reading, the Beach, The Boston Red Sox and Crossword puzzles. Most of all, Millie most enjoyed being "Grammy" to her grandchildren. The times she could spend with them enjoying laughs and celebrations were the precious moments in her life. Funeral services for Millie will be held Saturday, October 17th at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 256 Hamilton St. Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum. A period of calling hours will be held from 9:00 am to 10:30 am Saturday in the church prior to the Service. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in her name can be made to a charity of one's choice.
